Are GMOs to blame for plummeting sperm counts in developed countries? Russia President Vladimir Putin warned against the dangers of GMOs especially in the West, urging leaders to take action to protect the public from "modern poisons."
Studies show that sperm count in western countries have fallen to nearly 60% and the decline continues due to a number of reasons, including stress, obesity, and poor nutrition.
In a report, Putin said the next stage of human evolution is now in grave danger no thanks to Western pharmaceuticals and global powers that are “intentionally decelerating the process for their personal gain.”
President Putin has slammed “modern poisons” for destroying the average man’s health and sending sperm counts plummeting to record low levels, and warns that “unless urgent action is taken in the West, the human race is doomed.”
Sperm counts have plunged by nearly 60 per cent in just four decades among men living in Europe and the United States, according to a major review of scientific studies that suggests living in the Western world is causing serious damage to men’s health.
Pesticides, hormone-disrupting chemicals, and GMOs have all been suggested as possible reasons behind the dramatic decline in male sperm count levels and Putin told a Kremlin tour group that “urgent action” must be taken immediately.
“I don’t know what I have to do to get through to people. Can you see where this is headed? Where will we be in a few decades if this type of decline is not arrested? You don’t have to be a mathematics genius to figure it out,” Putin said.
“Unless urgent action is taken in the West, the human race is doomed. A young man born today in America will be completely sterilized by the time he is 40.”
